We've already applied hotfixes on PC version of the game to address some of the most critical issues such as the incapability with Thrustmaster peripherals, FFB, cases of crashes and more.
#Wrc 9 patch notes full
Their physics engine and tire modeling probably isn't all that detailed - I know no matter how slow and cautious I take the practice stage my tires seem to wear the same as if I'd taken it at full speed.Ĭolfari, would you be able to share the link where someone tested tires from reddit?įollowing the release of WRC 10 we've kept a close eye to the feedback you've given us through the game's different channels. I have noticed that different cars do seem to wear the front vs rear differently, but not to a significant extent and, iirc, not even where expected (I believe the game wears the rears faster than the fronts which doesn't seem to make sense since these are primarily AWD cars and the fronts handling so much more of the braking and steering, but oh well. I definitely don't try to work out the particular corners in a stage to maximize where the softs/hards are though! I generally crisscross my tires (one hard and one soft at the front and rear) so that I don't screw with handling characteristics as much by potentially inducing understeer or oversteer depending on where the tires with less grip are. Swap the used softs for new ones as needed. Equip two 100% hards on the car along with two more new softs, with two new softs in the trunk. This is where you'd need to mix and match tire compounds. I never run a full hard set up (at least not until I set the stage duration to realistic!) and instead try to take 2 hards and 4 softs on days that require me to watch tire wear. If possible try to equip 4 softs in decent condition for the power stage (P.S.) where you can earn a not insignificant amount of bonus points. Bring at least some hard tires for days with more stages before service and/or days that include the longer E.S. Re' tire selection - Use soft for short stages/days where tire wear won't be an issue for more grip.

The car accelarates a bit quicker and has a higher top speed, around 10-12 kmh more. I also changed the setup a bit, well, only the transmission so far, with these values (works for all recent WRC cars I suppose, I did not come up with these btw): I try to use the same tires on all 4 wheels and can not remember a track where tire wear was completely different, be it front/rear or left/right.Įdit: Managed a 3'11"173 on the weekly on my first and only attempt. I would not put too much thought into that, though. One time I had to drive the power stage with 2 dry asphalt and 2 snow/ice tires, it was Monte Carlo of course. Sometimes I mixed hard and soft tires for some tracks, but only if you had two longer stages without a pit stop inbetween and you could only have 2 spare tires, and I only had so many left or I screwed up when choosing them at the shakedown.

I know almost nothing about the stages, you need way more information about the tracks than the game is giving you, how many left or right hand corners a stage has for example (or even length). I don't think it will matter this much in this game, someone on reddit apparently did some testing. Sorry, but I was in a hurry when I wrote my last reply.Īpparently they use these mixed tires in real life, and Tappin Brews knows way more about it than I do, even mixing them diagonally.
